In a perfect world, cars would never break down or run out of gas. As we all know, this is not a perfect world and things can happen to your car that you may not foresee. Even new cars can break down without warning. When they do, you need to be able to find an auto repair and service company that will not only provide you with a fair deal, but also get the job done right.
To help you get the right auto repair and service company for you, here are some quick tips. You should ask your friends if they have any recommendations. Try and see if anyone has had the same problem as you and then check out the mechanic they used.
If you are new to an area and don’t know many people, you can talk to people who have the same type of car as you. Check out the auto repair shop they went to if they had problems as well. When you find an auto repair and service shop, go and find out if they work on your type of car. Some shops specialize in certain types of models, and they may not specialize in yours. Look around the shop to see the cars that are being repaired in the shop.
A very good tip is to call the Better Business Bureau before you choose an auto repair and service company. The Better Business Bureau will be able to tell you if there are any complaints on the file. You should also find out if the Los Angeles area shop is certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, or ASE.
Warranties are very important so make sure you check your warranty before you leave your car at the shop. Some shops will give you 30 days warranty and that is simply not enough. You should try and get at least 90 months but a shop with a six month warranty is by far the best.
Don’t just rely on guessing what the auto service and repair shop is going to do. Make sure you get a full explanation on what is going to be done to the car.
Lastly, make sure you can pick the car up when it is ready. This does not mean taking public transportation, but ensuring that the shop will actually be open. Check where the shop is located in regards to public transit and even see if you can get a loaner car until your car is ready.
